Recovery – Korean Premiere

Artistic Director Stacey Christodoulou was invited to direct the Korean premiere of Recovery by Canadian playwright Greg MacArthur. Set in rehab centre Antarctica, Recovery offers a profound exploration of a highly medicalized and corporatized society, wielding fear as a mechanism of control. It was featured as part of the 6th Annual Global Women Performing Arts Festival, with six performances at the Adapter Theatre (June 12-16, 2025), followed by two performances at the Haleunyoen Theatre at Busan Cinema Centre (June 28-29, 2025).
Canada and Korea in cultural dialogue
In June 2024, Artistic Director Stacey Christodoulou was invited by Hye-Ja (Heather) Ju and Jakyung Seo, Co-Artistic Directors of the Global Women’s Performing Arts Festival (GWPAF) in Busan, South Korea for a two-week residency to showcase The Other Theatre’s artistic practice and engage with the Korean artistic community. Stacey conducted workshops focusing on corporeal theatre as a tool for artistic creation and participated in an online symposium with invited guests from Thailand, South Korea, and the United States.
