The Other Theatre presents How We Lost Control Of... a public lab where the audience is invited into our company’s creative process. This performance marks our first foray into the post-COVID world, offering a space for exploration and discovery.
Seven women take the stage in a science fiction work that melds dance, poetry, movement and text. Set in a far future on a floating spaceship, the women grapple with fragmented messages from a dying Earth as they make their way to a new home. As the days stretch into years and the messages become more fractured, they pass the time enacting rituals of their lost planet: storytelling, knitting, soothsaying, remembering and dreaming.
This evocative work, utilizing AI as a creative partner, serves as a poignant reminder of the uncertainty that pervades a world where information is transient and truth remains elusive. It urges us to contemplate the profound impact of our actions and our shared responsibility for the world we inhabit. Join us for this first step in our creative process!
