How We Lost Control Of… [lab]

The Other Theatre presents How We Lost Control Of... a public lab where the audience is invited into our company’s creative process.  This performance marks our first foray into the post-COVID world, offering a space for exploration and discovery.

Seven women take the stage in a science fiction work that melds dance, poetry, movement and text. Set in a far future on a floating spaceship, the women grapple with fragmented messages from a dying Earth as they make their way to a new home.  As the days stretch into years and the messages become more fractured, they pass the time enacting rituals of their lost planet: storytelling, knitting, soothsaying, remembering and dreaming.

This evocative work, utilizing AI as a creative partner, serves as a poignant reminder of the uncertainty that pervades a world where information is transient and truth remains elusive.  It urges us to contemplate the profound impact of our actions and our shared responsibility for the world we inhabit.
